How do I know which photos belong to each customer?

You will need to have a system in order to identify the correct shot per customer. In order to identify the correct shot per customer, Prenumbered Cards (i.e. business card size) are to be handed out to one of the persons in the picture as each shot is taken. There will be a three digit number on the card. As an example #137 will mean the 1st roll of film, 37th shot on the roll. Thus #217 would be the 2nd roll of film, 17th shot on the roll, etc. In order to identify the roll of film after it has been developed with other rolls, simply shoot the first exposure of each roll with the first numbered card in that series.

The same works for digital photography. Most likely, you will need more than one memory card for your event. This way, someone else can be printing off one card while you continue to take pictures. Each camera card should be numbered for better tracking. It's also best to try and take pictures in multiples of what will fit on your printed sheet. For example, the HiTouch printer fits 10 full frame images on one sheet. So you should take your pictures in multiples of 10 (depending on how much will fit on your card) so you don't waste any paper. If you can fit, for instance, 60 images on your camera card, then the tracking cards that are handed out should be numbered 101-160, 201-260, etc.

Other ideas have been to let the customers sort out their pictures. Under normal circumstances this wouldn't work, but for those who are doing sports photography, it may be an option. One photographer shoots one roll of film or one camera card for each team of soccer players. He puts together the viewers for team one and puts them all in one bag, then does the same for the other teams. He gives the bag to the team and lets the kids sort them out. You could probably do the same at a birthday party. With photo keytags, you can lay them on a table in groups (maybe by which camera card you used), and let your customers find them when they come back. You need to figure out what works best for you.
